Monday Night Concert
The Holmes Brothers
http://www.theholmesbrothers.com/

Southeast Iowa music consumers are in for a feast on Monday, April 1.
Live from New York, for one night only, the incomparable Holmes Brothers.
These experienced music men cross and combine genres-- soul/gospel/ blues/boogie—
like a master chef to create a sound that Billboard calls “utterly astounding”.
Only a few soul artists (Aretha Franklin is one) have been able to do justice to both spiritual and secular themes without compromising the integrity of either.

The Holmes Brothers have played with Peter Gabriel, Van Morrison, and Joan Osborne, and have gigged all over the world. Their inspirational, new album SPEAKING IN TONGUES (AL 4877) – will amaze and delight everybody who hears it. With producer multi-platinum Joan Osborne and Grammy-winning engineer Trina Shoemaker (Sheryl Crow’s The Globe Sessions), the Holmes Brothers created a contemporary album of spiritual soul music. Throughout, the sweet gospel harmonies and classic soul shouting drip with authenticity and passion. The interplay of voices and instruments borders on telepathic. Mixing original songs, traditional material and songs by Ben Harper and Bob Dylan (Man Of Peace), Speaking in Tongues is an uplifting journey through a hybrid of American musical styles.

If rich, soulful harmonies in a blend of grit and sincerity are your cup of tea, a Monday evening with the Holmes Brothers is for you. The concert will be held at Morning Star Studio, 51 _ South Court Street in Fairfield, 7:45pm. Tickets $10. Advanced sales at Somebody Cares. This concert is brought to you by Abundance EcoVillage Productions, 641 472-2301.
