Village Progress

All electrical, water, and wastewater systems are functioning. Many trees, vines, shrubs, and herbs have been planted as part of the edible landscape with more added every year.

The first house built at AEV was completed in December 2002. The second home was completed in January 2005 and the third home was completed in December 2005. As of February 2009, 13 homes have been built and 9 are occupied at AEV.

Of these 13 completed homes, one of them is a new AEV guest house owned and operated by Bill and Stacey Hurlin. This comfortable guesthouse has all the sustainable green features of the residential homes. It is currently available for short-term rentals (daily, weekly or monthly rates)--visit their site at http://www.sweetwaterfairfield.com

One remaining lot is for sale in the first (northeast) neighborhood. Four out of seven lots have been sold in the second (west) neighborhood. Starting in the summer of 2007, the Greenfields began building four houses on their four lots in the third (south) neighborhood. One of them is occupied and the other three are for sale. For prospective homeowners, there is also a rent-to-buy option available for these newer Greenfield homes.

The first house built at AEV was Ken Walton's house. John Freeburg was the builder.

John and Judy Salerno's home was the second house built at AEV. Steve Vessey was the builder.

Bill and Stacey Hurlin bought a Smart Home, which was built as a spec house by Sally Gavre and John Loin.

Donna Findling 's home was built by Dal Loiselle using greencrete.

Sandy Rando's home was built by Steve Vessey.
